1. Your style in the new video Wear My Kiss is a huge nod to this season’s futuristic trend. Is this a style you can see sticking with the Sugababes?
Heidi: "No, we like to change it to suit the song. While Wear My Kiss is futuristic in style, our single before that was a completely different look, very 'Glam Rock', but that’s the fun part! You get to try new styles out."
2. Do you have any style icons?
Heidi:"Not necessarily people who I would dress like, but I love seeing what Dita Von Teese is wearing. She always looks amazing, she’s just got that old school glamour about her. In music I love to see what Lady Gaga comes out with. She’s just got such mad costumes and it’s always good to see what she does for her performances."
3. What are your top 3 style tips for the season?
Amelle: "Definitely shoulder pads. Accentuating the shoulders is one thing that the girls and I are loving at the moment. Oversized things as well, like the oversized suit jackets – you don’t have to wear bottoms with them, just a nice pair of shoes."
Jade:"I’ve recently realised that I’m a bit out of proportion, my legs are quite long in comparison to my body. I tend to go for things that are lengthening, like a long top over leggings, just so it evens me out a bit and I don’t look gangly!"
Heidi: "I’m quite into lacy stuff. It can look quite tough, but it’s still feminine. And I think a little bit of sparkle is always good too!"
4. Who are your favourite designers?
Jade: "I’d probably say Balmain. I just love all the shoulder pads and the way the clothes are cut."
Amelle: "A new designer we're championing at the moment is a person called Graeme Armour – he’s an up-and-coming designer who’s going to be massive. I’m really looking forward to some more of the new clothing that he’s making for us."
5. What’s in your handbag right now?
Heidi: "Apart from the obvious things like my phone, I’ve always got lip gloss and a bit of blusher. Maybe a bit of concealer and perfume too - at the moment it’s Black Orchid by Tom Ford."
6. Finally, what's your absolute must-have this season?
Amelle: "I got a great black jacket with gold studs by Danielle Scutt recently. And my Alexander McQueen knitted dress that I bought recently. It’s just above the knee, with quite a low top, and it covers the whole arm. I wore it very recently to a Dior event at Claridges, so I can’t really wear it out again for a while, which is a shame!"
Jade:"I bought a pair of Givenchy shoes…they’re GORGEOUS! They’re elegant, but still a bit edgy at the same time - and they go with everything, which is nice!
Heidi: "I bought an amazing pair of Christian Louboutin shoes the other day – they’re covered in black and gold crystals, and they’re my favourite recent purchase. In fact, they’re my favourite pair of shoes that I’ve ever owned actually, so I’m just going to wear them at any opportunity I get!"
