My most expensive buy for a suit for the office was a Ralph Lauren hitting well into 3 figures. However, my best fitting suit is from high street store Oasis, costing exactly £100 at that time. That was at least two years ago and it's still in A1 condition and worn often. The RL on the other hand is worn when all others are at the dry cleaners.

Jigsaw always worked for me when I worked in the City. Their suits are for funky, young women and are well cut with quality detailing like ticket pockets and back vents. Usually 100% wool and fully lined.

Try Marks and Spencer. I know they have just started doing made to measure shirts at reasonable prices.

What do we think is the least it's possible to get away with spending on a good suit?
