It’s clear to be seen, right now geek chic is really having a fashion moment. As we’ve learnt from the style savvy girls below, now is the time to don a pair of statement specs, high collar or pleated skirt and work the trend to its full effect. Mixing geek chic elements (think quirky blazers, colourful ankle socks and midi length skirts as well as the above) with retro inspired styling and prints makes for a super cute and definitely too cool for school look. Bring a geek edge to your own personal style and for some inspiration – check out the girls in the gallery below.

  • Jujukimbo, 24, Student

Juju's working the geek chic look with a Vivienne Westwood scarf and brogues from Zara. The core of her outfit gives a nod to this winter's heritage trend, with a crisp American Apparel shirt, wool blazer, and vintage tartan skirt.

  • Abi, 15, Student

Abi has gone for a geek chic look, combining a beautifully embroided blouse with knee length skirt, socks and pumps. Layered with this seasons favourite cable knit cardigan, she gets an A+ in the fashion stakes.

  • Sasha, 29, Buckinghamshire

Sasha's taupe dog print dress is adorable and we love her vintage bag. Her beige strappy platforms complement the dress wonderfully and the black tights take the look from autumn to winter.

  • Ellie, 18, Fashion Student

We love Ellie's geek chic tartan blazer mixed with feathered earrings and on-trend ankle boots.

  • Poppy, BINTM Live

Poppy shows us how to update our denim shorts! Layering a floral blazer over a neutral blouse gives her outfit a sweet 70's feel, and we love the minimalist accessorising with the fedora. Add black wedges to boost your height.

  • Daisy, 18, Student

Daisy mixes cute and floral with office chic by layering her day dress with a smart blazer. We loved her lace collar and heeled ankle boots.

  • Zoe,15, Student

Zoe is bright and bold in this outfit, using blue, red and yellow to create a playful look. The yellow knitted cardigan brings this outfit into the autumn, and wearing socks with shoes is quirky cool.

  • Tasha, 16, Student

Midi skirts are huge this winter. Tasha's teal Topshop number, when paired with a print T shirt and Russell & Bromley ankle boots, make for a great off duty look.

  • Lauren, 18, Student

We love Lauren's cute peter pan collar salmon coloured top, which clashes coolly with her pastel coloured hair! Leopard print cage shoes make the outfit pop.

  • Victoria, 16, Student

Victoria looks sophisticated in her floral Urban Outfitters skirt with white Monsoon top.

  • Harriet, 16, Student

By keeping it simple with skinny jeans and brogues, Harriet gets away with layering a sleeveless denim shirt too. The tousled hair and vintage sunglasses are the cherry on top of this 60's inspired outfit.

  • Lan, 26, Fashion Buyer

Lan is rocking this colour blocked outfit from Zara, teaming it with Dolce and Gabbana ballet shoes (which add a splash of colour at her feet.) She pulls the look together with a stylish ribbed jacket and a printed bag.

  • Emma, 18, Student

Emma's style is casual and glam all in one, making her outfit changable from day to night. Teaming the luxe black playsuit with a burnt orange cardigan and flat Zara brogues makes it wearable all year round.
